I began writing in the winter of 1997, with a post-modernist exploration of the futility of life as seen through the eyes of woodland creatures titled The Squirrel and the Hedgehog.
Unfortunately, the world wasn't quite ready for such a dark tale from a seven year old, including a sixteen-page account of Hedgehog’s descent into depression after being rejected from his community expressed through the metaphorical dark woods. Clearly being stuck inside during Scottish snowstorms had a profound effect on me as a child.
Years later, I channeled this early angst into mostly food-related writing, though I've also dabbled in lifestyle, property, travel and film too. My work has appeared in various publications, including The Telegraph, The Huffington Post, Square Meal, Homes & Property, KX Quarterly, and About Time. Here are a few examples from the archives:
